About Valerie J.

Valerie J. Garrett is an Honors graduate of Hypnosis Motivation Institute. She is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Certified Couples and Sex Therapist with the American Association of Couples and Sex Therapists (AACAST).She earned an MA in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Los Angeles, and trained as an intern at Valley Community Counseling Clinic. Before that, she received a BA in English from Cal Poly, Pomona, an MA in Cinema Studies from the University of Southern California, and spent several years working in the entertainment industry as a publicist.In her private practice, she blends the therapeutic work of cultivating awareness, understanding, and emotional resilience with the quicker, more specifically focused process of Hypnotherapy to work more directly with the subconscious mind; allowing clients to go deeper, develop new ways of thinking, change self-sabotaging habits, find balance, and move forward in life.Her primary goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can develop awareness and understanding about the painful emotions that keep them feeling stuck. She is particularly excited to see how hypnosis can accelerate the process of change; particularly those habits of thinking that hold us back from living the life we truly want and deserve. Change, instead of something to be dreaded and resisted, becomes a welcome process that restores a sense of who you always wanted to be – and more accurately, who you really are.
