It started with a search
The founder was looking for a hypnotherapist. What should have been simple turned into a frustrating one. Finding a practitioner was hard enough. Finding one that felt credible was even harder.
Most of the websites were incomplete, outdated, or missing entirely. There was no easy way to compare practitioners, read reviews, or tell who was actually qualified. Many listings had a handful of reviews, if any at all. Nothing about the experience built trust.
Eventually the right practitioner was found, and the sessions were genuinely great. Real breakthroughs. But the search itself had been so bad that it was hard not to wonder how many other people gave up before they ever got that far.
The gap
Every health-adjacent profession has the infrastructure it needs. Therapists, doctors, dentists, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists. They all have well-known directories, reviews, and a clear way for new clients to find them.
Hypnotherapy never had that.
Practitioners are left cobbling together generic tools, paying for websites that do not reflect their work, and losing clients to practitioners who simply look more established online. The profession has brilliant people doing transformative work. But the infrastructure around it has not kept up.
That was the gap worth filling.
What we built
Find a Hypnotherapist is the largest hypnotherapy directory in the United States. Over 9,000 practitioners across all fifty states, organized by specialty, location, and approach, so someone looking for the right person can actually find them.
Every profile that has been claimed by a practitioner shows a Verified badge. Practitioners on the Preferred tier show a Preferred badge and have confirmed they are actively taking new clients. Practitioners running their practice on our Platform product show a Partner badge. The badges are about signal, not endorsement. We do not verify clinical outcomes or recommend any specific practitioner; we help you find them, and you decide.
We do not take kickbacks from practitioners for placement. We do not hide results behind a paywall. The directory is free to search and will stay that way.

When people looking for help can find qualified practitioners in minutes instead of giving up after an hour of dead-end Google results, more of them get the help they came looking for. That is the whole point.

A small team based in Maryland. We care about the profession, we care about the people using the directory to find help, and we care about building the kind of infrastructure this industry should have had a decade ago.
